2025 PROGRAM UPDATE
Q: What is the mission/purpose of the Clean Cause Foundation (CCF)?
A: The mission of the CLEAN Cause Foundation (CCF) is to bridge the critical gap between addiction and early recovery, by funding recovery housing initiatives that promote best practices, further research, and impact systems change.
CCF was founded with the purpose to support the recovery community and to effectively and responsibly manage the giveback funds generated from the CLEAN Cause Inc. (CCI) national beverage company. To date, CCI has donated $3,660,477 towards recovery programming and continues to serve as CCF’s primary funder.
Q: Does CCF still provide recovery housing scholarships?
A: To further our mission and maximize our impact, we have redirected funding from recovery housing scholarships for individuals to more expansive systemic programs in order to broaden the reach of our impact. Launching and stewarding the Foundation’s scholarship initiative was instrumental in providing valuable insights and learnings during our early development as an organization. We remain deeply committed to addressing the critical gap between addiction and early recovery.
Q: Why does CCF no longer provide recovery housing scholarships?
A: CCF is shifting its focus to programs that tackle systemic challenges within the recovery housing system of care. In recent years, the Foundation has received an average of 1,000 scholarship applications per month but has had to decline more than 90% of them given the amount of funds overseen by the Foundation. This highlighted a persistent gap between the demand and available scholarship funding, emphasizing the need for a broader, systems-level approach to drive sustainable, long-term change.
Q: How will CCF continue to fulfill its mission?
A: We recognize the ongoing need for recovery housing support and understand that the closing of this program may be difficult to understand. This choice was not made lightly—we consulted extensively with our advisors, experts, and funders to determine how best to create the most meaningful and lasting impacts on access to recovery housing within the resources available.
Our goal is to design initiatives that genuinely reflect the voices and experiences of those in recovery. CCF will continue to advance its mission by providing targeted support to recovery homes, helping them enhance sustainability, implement best practices, and build capacity to support individuals in the recovery process.
An application process for recovery homes interested in this support will open in Summer 2025.
Q: Where can I learn more about your new programming?
A: The new CCF programming presents an exciting opportunity to drive meaningful systemic improvements with a lasting impact. Additional details about these initiatives will be available on the CCF website and social media channels in Summer 2025, so be sure to check back regularly. We will also share updates through an official press release.
Q: How can I help the recovery housing cause?
A: Supporting the recovery housing movement is a powerful way to help individuals rebuild their lives and achieve lasting recovery. Every effort—whether large or small—can significantly impact recovery housing and empower individuals on their journey.
You can get involved by participating in our research initiatives, subscribing to our quarterly newsletter, or organizing your own fundraiser.
Purchasing CLEAN Cause beverages is another way to make a meaningful contribution to CCF’s recovery housing programs. As CCI remains the primary funder of CCF, every can lends a hand.
